Subjects - CMT New Career Relaxation Massage
In this Course the prime aim is to teach the student the fundementals of Relaxation Massage. The purpose of Relaxation Massage is to help alleviate stress & tension that can build up in the body’s soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments). Relaxation is very important part of rehabalitation and therapy in general.
The CMT - Certificate Relaxation Massage (Relaxation) is a pre-requisite to our Accredited Courses. The CMT Course is a non accredited course that aims to create a massage practitioner with good career potential & foundation of skills that will lead to further study to advanced Courses that lead to professional work. |

The Certificate Relaxation Massage (Relaxation) training attempts to address issues at a level that will allow you to step into a Government Accredited Course.
CMT – Certificate Relaxation Massage (Relaxation) teaches massage as the basis of a wholistic approach to treatment, incorporating soft tissue techniques and clinical experience.
Evidently, you have already taken the first steps towards giving and receiving massage. To enjoy the skills and exercises without rushing and to arrange as much home practise as possible would be an excellent idea.
Massage has been practised on all continents over many years, and has stood the test of time. Those who excel in this art will be much sought after, and massage is most certainly an art. Even with all the techniques, not everyone will get to master this art form.
Opportunities for qualified people have increased dramatically, as more people accept the need for Physical / Tactile Therapies. However, work opportunities will always exist but will never be guaranteed by the Melbourne College of Professional Therapists (MCPT).
There are a lot of good and highly qualified therapists working, and also a lot of indifferent ones and actually some who are quite bad, but there are not too many who excel in this art of relaxation for they have not grasped the mind, body and spirit concept.
To develop this intuitive feel and hands, which seem to have an instinct of where they should be and how firm they should press, is a part of the aim of this course. Once this wholistic approach is achieved, then the healing will soon follow.
In Clinical / Remedial Massage, further study is required.
First Step to Accredited Courses
Although CMT is designed to take students up to the entry level required for a Government Accredited Courses, this Course is also open to anyone wanting to develop basic hands-on skills in general massage, for use on a recreational level with family and friends.
For those wishing to go on to do a higher level professional training course, this provides an opportunity to get an experience of massage therapy.
This CMT Course is mostly “hands on”, students receive a pre-course workbook, undertake theory and practical classes, 50 hours of student clinic placement, and will then obtain a Certificate Massage Therapy - Relaxation (CMT). CMT course is a stepping stone to other Accredited Courses.
