Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice - HLT 40307 course provides student graduates with an entry level qualification required to enter the Professional Massage Therapy Industry.

 

This Course has a main focus on therapeutic / relaxation massage skills. It also provides a range of skills and practical modalities, such as Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Aromatherapy Basics and Fundementals of Reflexology.

 

The Clinical Assessment is paramount which includes the history and principles of massage, and the use of anatomical and industry-specific terminology.

 

The Student Clinic Placement component of the course provides invaluable hands-on workplace experience in a supervised clinic, allowing students to develop confidence and integration of various techniques as they learn to assess and treat their clients.

 

Upon successful completion of Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice - HLT 40307, graduates may register as a full member with a national massage association and obtain professional indemnity insurance and commence professional work.

 

Graduate students wishing to further their studies and to obtain provider numbers with various private health funds have an option to continue with an upgrade to Diploma of Remedial Massage - HLT 50307.

 

This qualification forms part of the Health Training Package. It leads to job opportunities in the field of relaxation and therapeutic massage therapy. You will learn to assess a client's massage needs and plan and conduct a massage. You will also learn to work safely and ethically in health care and wellness environments, and to communicate effectively with clients and other health care workers.
